We are travelling over the next couple of months. First, to attend the LACUS conference in New York, and then as keynotes at the UBC Meeting of the International Crosslinguistic Study of Children’s Speech Development.
The fun part will be the trip from NYC to Vancouver – we’ll be going part of the way by train, taking the TransCanada through the Rockies!
Apart from the travels, there’s also the travails! I am attempting to finish all but a couple of chapters of the magnum opus (aka albatross around the neck). Provisionally titled ‘Principles of Clinical Phonology’, it builds on some of my concerns about current approaches to clinical phonology as expressed, for example, in my keynote at the Istanbul meeting of ICPLA.
Because of both the travel and the travail, the Blog will be taking a rest from now until the end of August.
