Overview

Face-to-face conversational interaction goes far beyond the words exchanged. To understand the nature of human communication it is necessary to integrate the diverse modes of information exchange which occur during communicative interactions. The workshop will discuss conversational engagement from multiple perspectives, including the linguistic and behavioural dynamics of human interactions and their neurophysiological correlates.

Abstract submissions, for poster presentations only, are invited on topics including:

- Social and motor aspects of conversational interaction.

- Speech perception and production in conversation.

- Modelling of communicative interaction from behavioural and neurophysiological perspectives

- Auditory scene analysis, auditory perception and neurophysiology

We welcome submissions from postgraduate students and early career researchers. Abstracts should be no more than 200 words, presented in 12-point Times New Roman font and should not exceed one page of A4 (including references and figures, if required). Please provide the full names and affiliations of all authors below the title. They should be submitted in Word or RTF format, no later than midnight on the 3rd September, to: lucy.davies4@plymouth.ac.uk.

Abstract submission deadline: 3rd September (midnight).

Notification of poster acceptance: 5th September.

Registration opens: 7th September.

Registration closes: 14th September.

Workshop: 20th September 2012.
