When ICPLA was formed in 1991, Martin Duckworth (then of Cardiff) was appointed the first Treasurer. Due to the International nature of the Association, an Associate Treasurer for North America was also appointed – Tom Powell (then at Ball State University).

In 1994 Tom combined both roles and became the Treasurer. In 2000 at the Edinburgh ICPLA meeting, Nicole Müller (University of Louisiana at Lafayette) took over as the Treasurer and served in that capacity until the 2006 ICPLA in Dubrovnik.

At Dubrovnik Megan McAuliffe was elected Treasurer and held the post until the Oslo meeting.

In 2010 Tom (now at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, Shreveport) was elected Treasurer again.
